The tournament begins on 27-09-2025 at 9:00 (Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Singles, all categories) and ends on 28-09-2025 at 18:00 (Mixed Doubles, all categories).

Registration

The Vola app is available for free on the Play Store and App Store.

To register for the tournament, you must install the app on your mobile phone and create a user account on your mobile phone (not on your desktop).

To be able to register for tournaments, you must have already assessed your level through DUPR and the partner you will play with must already have a VOLA account with their DUPR level also assessed.

Once you have installed the application on your mobile phone, you can access it and create a new user account by selecting ‘Sign up’.

When registering, you may have to choose between tennis and padel. You can choose either. This is not a problem. You can change it to pickleball later.

The app will ask for your level so you can register for tournaments.

To do this, you need a DUPR account, which you can log into via the Vola app.

By accessing ‘My Profile,’ you can change the sport to Pickleball.

This will show you the available Pickleball tournaments.

You can also add other useful information to your profile, such as your T-shirt size.

Payment

Payments are done directly in the Vola app, by card.

If, by any reason, you cannot make the payment in the App, it is possible to make payment by bank transfer or MBway.

Structure

The 18+ doubles categories begin with a qualifying phase by Groups, levels 3.5 (Intermediate) and 4.0+ (Advanced). The top two in the Group advance to the elimination phase and the bottom two to the lower level (consolation).

If there are not enough doubles teams, considering the minimum of 4, categories may be combined.

In singles, there will be no consolation bracket, Open category.

All Group stage matches are 1 game to 15 points, 2-point difference.

In the knockout stage:

• Round of 16/Quarter-finals: 1 game to 15 points, 2-point difference.

• Semi-finals: best of 3 games to 11 points, 2-point difference.

• Final: best of 3 games to 11 points, with a 2-point difference.

• 3rd and 4th place: best of 3 games to 11 points, with a 2-point difference.

Minors will be admitted to the competition in the 18+ categories, from the age of 13 until 31 December 2025, provided they have the express authorisation of their guardian.

Veterans (Senior)

The 50+ and 60+ (Open) categories begin with a group qualifying stage. The top two teams in each group advance to the knockout stage. Minimum of three matches.

All group stage matches are best of one set to 15 points, with a two-point difference.

In the knock-out phase:

• Round of 16/Quarter-finals: 1 game to 15 points, 2-point difference.

• Semi-finals: best of 3 games to 11 points, 2-point difference.

• Final: best of 3 games to 11 points, with a 2-point difference.

• 3rd and 4th place: best of 3 games to 11 points, with a 2-point difference.

Players in the 60+ category may participate in the 50+ category, as these are two separate competitions with different PPT rankings.

The rules of the game follow the USA Pickleball - 2025 Official Rulebook, Portuguese translation by the Global Pickleball Federation (GPF) - Portuguese 2025 Official Rulebook, including the list of rackets approved for competition.

The points obtained by each athlete in this tournament count towards the PPT Ranking, continuing the points accumulated in the 2nd season of the PPT, last 6 tournaments.

The matches played count towards the DUPR and the tournament seeds are determined by the same rating system, connected by the Vola application, which will manage this.

Cancellations

In the event of cancellation of the event, the registration fee will be refunded in full.

Cancellations by participants will be accepted up to and including 21 September 2025. After the registration deadline on that date, the Organisation will not refund the registration fee, unless a replacement player is found by 24 September 2025.

If the cancellation is confirmed, it will result in a forfeit, with defeat due to failure to appear. This will have an impact on the results in the respective competition table.

By registering for the tournament, all players authorise their image to be captured during the tournament and disseminated by the organisation through audio, photographic and video media.
